According to The Hollywood Reporter, Colin Farrell is in talks” to portray villain The Penguin in Robert Pattinson's upcoming comic-book movie The Batman. Earlier in the year, it was confirmed that Twilight star Robert Pattinson had been cast as Batman and will assume the cape and cowl. Pattinson, who was The Batman - Colin Farrell for Penguin cast in May, revealed he's begun to get into shape for the role of the Caped Crusader in a video clip shared on Twitter in October.

But now, Deadline reports that Colin Farrell is in talks to play the Penguin. Meanwhile, since 1989, Pennyworth has been played by Michael Gough, Michael Caine and Jeremy Irons. More recently, Robin Lord Taylor played a younger version of Oswald in the Batman prequel series Gotham, and his performance was widely considered by critics to be among the highlights of the series.

The actor is currently in negotiations with Warner Bros to play the Penguin. Deadline reports that Colin Farrell is in negotiations with the Burbank-based studio to play Oswald Copplepot better known as the Penguin, in The Batman alongside Robert Pattinson as the titular character.

The reboot stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.
